6.1 Europe: The RISCOM project on "Enhancing transparency and public participation in nuclear waste management" is aimed at improving transparency in decision-making processes in radioactive waste disposal and is investigating issues around public participation, dialogue and risk communication. RISCOM is an international research project involving 11 partners from 5 countries - Sweden, UK, Finland, France and the Czech Republic. It is part funded under the European Commission's 5th Framework Programme.
