Decommissioning

• The decommissioning site has been developed by the WNA Decommissioning Task Group to demonstrate how decommissioning is being achieved safely and economically within the nuclear industry. The site acts as a portal to:
  
  • an introductory factsheet on decommissioning which summarises how decommissioning is carried out throughout the nuclear fuel cycle and introduces the various options available when developing a decommissioning strategy.
    
  • project factsheets on a range of successful projects across the nuclear fuel cycle internationally.
    
  • a database that provides available, up-to-date information on decommissioning progress of reactor, fuel processing and waste storage facilitites. The database is fully searchable.
    
  • a website portal that provides access to major decommissioning websites worldwide.
